Does this happen to you?  I wash my face at night with a good cleanser then follow up with a toner on a cotton ball.  No matter how much soap I use, that cotton ball always has dirt on it.  It makes me wonder if my face is ever really clean.  What do I have to do - use an SOS pad?

No SOS pad needed! But if you still have "stuff" left on the cotton after toning, then chances are you might just be using your hands, which aren't getting the job done for you. Try adding your cleanser to clean hands, washing as you do now then doing a light scrub with a clean face cloth or microfiber cloth to remove. This way, the texture of the cloth helps pick up dirt and debris without hogging all the cleanser!
